Sun Space is a very unique art space in Shadow Hills, California, just north of LA. Noell, the owner is as cool as they come, and super welcoming and open-minded. Brad Dutz (one of LA’s top percussionists, and uber-musicians) curates a performance series there every Thursday. Despite the venue’s modest size, the Thursday night series boasts an impressive line-up. I’ll be there from 8-9 with my 4tet, featuring John Tegmeyer on clarinet, Cooper Appelt on bass, and James Yoshizawa on drums. At 9, I’ll turn the stage over to an incredibly talented group of young musicians from Cal State Northridge, with whom I had the great pleasure of working this past semester. They will also play an entire set of original music which will blow your mind.
